Importance of cooking your meal

How often can do you cook or prep your meal?
The struggle of planning and cooking your meal has made a lot of people give up on the quest of losing weight. Weight loss takes physical, emotional and psychological effort. The planning, record keeping and review are necessary for effective weight loss.
Is it important to cook your own food while losing weight?
It’s important because I get to control a lot of things while enjoying a quality meal. I’m not a fast food or restaurant fan, I love making my own meals.  A lot of people also succeed in losing weight without cooking their own meals, I believe cooking is an essential part of weight loss with its benefits.

Ability to control ingredients: to be honest, you cannot control the ingredients in restaurant food. It is difficult to know the quantity of ingredients they put in meals.
Ability to control calories: calorie control is an integral part of losing weight and cooking your meals gives you the power to control calories, example: measuring oil in your cooking, using better meat cut (lean) which will reduce the calorie content in your meal.
Ability to reduce the amount of processed food used in cooking

Developing cooking skills: learning how to cook is very easy, all it takes is practicing, researching and experimenting. I’ve gain great confidence in cooking, enjoy cooking and trying out new food.  I’ve taught a lot of people skills, how to go about trying new recipes and making unhealthy meals healthy. This goes a long way in lifestyle change.
